          Comenius meeting in Spain

From Friday 18th  to 24th  October there was a trip to Spain. We set off from school to Warsaw at 3.00 am. Our plane took off at 10.15 a.m. and we arrived in Madrid at 14.15 then we went to the underground to get to our hotel. When we unpacked our suitcases we went for a walk to see the area.

The next day we ate tasty breakfast and went to visit Madrid. It was the most tiring but a very nice day. First we were sightseeing alone (the groups from Spain, Hungary and Italy joined us in the evening). We saw a beautiful park full of animals, the Royal Palace and much more.

On Sunday morning on the way to Torredonjimeno we were sightseeing an old city Toledo. In this city there is a beautiful cathedral. We came to Torredonjimeno in the evening and Spanish families took us to their houses.

The lessons started at 8.00 a.m. on Monday and finished at about 12.00. After the lessons everybody went to the local theatre and Spanish, Hungarian and Polish students presented their own culture. We also saw Jaen (the capital of the province) on that day. In Jaen there is a nice castle and an old cathedral.

Tuesday was a very interesting day because we visited Granada we saw Alhambra which is on the list of UNESCO. It is a very interesting Arabian area. There are beautiful Arabian gardens and a palace. We came back to Torredonjimeno late in the evening.

Wednesday was our last day in Torredonjimeno. We were at school from 8.00 to 11.30. When we finished the lessons we went to the town hall where we had a meeting with the mayor of  Torredonjimeno. Next we went to the castle which is also a museum. In the evening we went for a parting party in the Spanish school. It was great! But  the next day we had to come back to Poland.

We left Torredonjimeno at 6.30 a.m. At 10.00 we were at the airport and at 19.05 we were back in Warsaw and at 23.00 in Częstochowa.

          It was a great experience!

          Visit in Spain.

Our visit in Spain was from 18th to 24th  October 2013. We saw many interesting places and monuments, and we had a great time there.

First day after we had driven to Warsaw, we flew to Spain. We were flying about 3 hours. It was amazing, because I flew for the first time in my life.

After we had arrived to Madrid, we drove with our suitcases to Hotel Legazpi by tube. When we unpacked we went to see the closest surrounding area.

Next day we went to see downtown of Madrid. It is a very modern city, but I liked it. We saw The Royal Palace, Cathedral of Madrid, Crystal Palace and a lot of monuments, for example Monument of King Ferdynand. At this day we met our friends from Hungary and teachers from Italy and Spain too. In the evening we went all together to supper.

On the third day of our visit in Spain we drove to Torredonjimeno. On the way to this town we visited Toledo. It is a very beautiful, old city like our Cracow. There we saw wonderful Cathedral and other things. The same day we arrived to Torredonjimeno and we met our student - friends from Spain. My friend Veronica and her family took me to their home. Later we ate  dinner. Usually people in Spain eat small and sweet breakfast. After that they have a brunch and lunch. At the end of day they eat very much.

Next day we went to the school. First, we presented our project about Polish Nobel Prize Winners and other schools were doing the same, but about their Nobel Prize Winners. In the afternoon we went to the theatre in order to show our performances. Then we drove to Jaen, which is the capital of their province.

On Tuesday we drove to Granada. There we saw the Alhambra- the wonderful Arabian sultan's former manor house. There were beautiful gardens, fountains and castle.

On the sixth day we went to school and students were making posters about visit in Poland, Italy, Hungary and Spanish. Later we went to the Town Hall. There our school got a flag of Torredonjimeno. The same day all teachers drove to the olive oil-producing factory and pupils had  “siesta”. In the evening everybody was on the farewell dinner.

Last day we drove to Madrid at 6 a.m. o`clock. We had a flight  to Poland at 3.25 p.m. I didn`t want  to leave Spain, because I used to Spain`s lifestyle. And I liked this people and I didn`t want to say goodbye with them. I believe that we will meet soon again. This trip was one of the best of my life.

Visit to Spain within Comenius Project

After many weeks of work before the journey to Spain within Comenius Project I dreamt about seeing this country. Our purpose was to visit our partner school in Torredonjimeno. Travelling by plane  was for Jadwiga  the first time. The Impressions were memorable.

At first we flew to Madrid where we admired the capital of Spain: architecture, flora and first of all Spanish October warmth. However, I was waiting with impatience for arrival to Torredonjimeno where Anghela was waiting for me. She lived with my family last year. I was very happy that  at Her family home I can spend some days. Anghela’s family was really kind and they cared about my comfort. But I will remember that people from Spain are the same like us- they have got the same problems and the same reasons to be happy.

At the partner school we participated at lessons of Spanish language.

We were on the trip around surrounding cities. We could see how local people care about traditions making oil from Olive trees. We got one bottle of that oil to take it home.

We took part in the performance where we showed traditional Polish Dances, songs and poems.

Unfortunately, everything which is good, finishes very fast. We experienced memorable time and everybody wanted to stay in Torredonjimeno longer. Travel to Spain, thanks to Comenius Partnership gave me deep experiences. Nowadays I am certain that trips give a lot of benefits because we can get to know other cultures.

I think that Comenius Project helps young people to acquire basic skills and life competences which is necessary for personal development, future employment and active European nationality. Thank you for this ability very muchJ
